Spring is here and the City of Conyers is ready to celebrate at the 36th Annual Conyers Cherry Blossom Festival taking place March 25-26, 2023 at the Georgia International Horse Park. In the months of February, March, and even May, activities take place throughout the community celebrating the long-time Conyers tradition.
Festival staff and the Georgia International Horse Park were recognized at the Southeast Festivals and Events Association’s Kaleidoscope Awards, in Lexington, Kentucky, on February 21. A panel of experts in event planning, marketing, and tourism spent an entire day reviewing the entries from events and festivals in five states. The judges looked for originality, creativity, media impact, volunteer programs, and the overall impact to the community.
This year the Conyers Cherry Blossom Festival continued its award-winning tradition by receiving awards in multiple categories: Bronze for Best TV Ad or PSA, Gold for Best Marketing Campaign, and Silver for Best Festival in the Southeast.
Community organizations will “Spring into Pink”, this year’s festival theme, by hosting Cherry Blossom Festival festivities including the Miss Conyers Cherry Blossom Scholarship Pageant, which kicked off the season on February 25. The Second Annual Student Photography Contest hosted by Conyers Rockdale Council for the Arts and Atlanta Celebrates Photography will be held at the Corner Market March 18. The Kiwanis Club’s Annual Cherry Blossom Golf Tournament is scheduled for March 31 at Cherokee Run Golf Club. Rounding out the Cherry Blossom event season will be the Heartland Women’s Club hosting their Annual Cherry Blossom Croquet Tournament on May 20.
Get “pinked” during the weeks leading up to the festival as residents are out shopping, dining, and enjoying other public spaces in town. Festival items will be hidden in random locations throughout Conyers. If a festival item is discovered, the resident has been “pinked”. It is theirs to keep, but the festival asks that residents share their “pinked” status on their social media pages with the prize and identifying where they located it.
The festival also offers a chance to win “Blossom Bucks” gift certificates that can be used to purchase items from art and craft exhibitors during the event. Be one of the first 100 guests each day to stop by the festival information booth to grab a shopping bag for the chance to find Blossom Bucks inside the bag! Be one of the lucky youngest guests to find a pink kimono by participating in the scavenger hunt and also win a fun festival prize!
The Conyers Cherry Blossom Festival will be held rain or shine on March 25-26 from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Shop, play and eat during this contemporary art festival, featuring 300 artist and crafter booths and a variety of food booths.
