Pfeiffer Bird Cage Antenna System

A linear loaded vertical antenna designed to cover the HF bands 80 meters through 6 meters. It resembles a bird cage and consequently I have christened it  "The Bird Cage Vertical Antenna".

The completed antenna consists of two 3 foot diameter wheels 4 feet apart secured to a fiberglass axle which is mounted vertically. The conducting wires between the wheels form the perimeter of the cage. Below the lower wheel is an aluminum disc to which the coax feedline is attached. This disc is also the platform for four 4 radial rods. The antenna is 7 1/2 feet tall and weighs 12 lbs.
