Born in the mid-Sixties to a family of immigrant Scottish farmers, JJ spent most of his youth tending to his family's small fishing boat out of
Gloucester, Massachusetts along Cape Ann and the Great Banks fishing haddock and cod. Like many young men of his family's ancestry, JJ had a great love for the sea, and he decided to attend college and study Marine Biology. It was studying as a foreign exchange student at the
Russian Institute of Marine Biology in Vladivostok-41, Russia where JJ met the woman who would become his first wife, Inga Swengaliska, a
Russian lingerie model and women's basketball star. But their romance was to be a short one. Two months after their wedding, Inga was lost in a plane crash above the
Bering
Strait. JJ spent the next two years in solitude hiking the
Himalayas. It was in Tibet where he began his quest into the secret mysteries of the ancient
Buddhist monks amidst the serene and spiritually rejuvenating environment.
In 1989, he returned to the United States and took up residence in New York where he finished his degree in Biology and a second in
Literature. First he became an ordained Christian minister, and then he entered graduate school and taught for four years at the prestigious
Buchanan
High School where he met his second wife, a lithe Venezuelan
beauty called Laura. But alas, that romance was also to end abruptly when the lass was abducted by a former husband and
whisked away to England or France. Her the marriage to JJ was annulled, and once again, JJ went
solo in the
game.
JJ's hobbies include oil wrestling every other weekend at Mr. Happy's "Ladies Night,"
Chinese cooking and attending country fairs where he peddles his self-crafted iron sculptures! He studies Apocalyptic Ideology and
Comparative
Mythology, is addicted to the Internet, and enjoys an occasional
oriental massage and acupuncture. He is a published author under three aliases in the genres of horror, science fiction and how-to
metalcraft. His books have sold over 500,000 copies and he regularly travels the academic lecture circuit during the summer months speaking at workshops for beginning to intermediate writers. He is a regular consultant on
ritual crime and religious
symbology for the FBI, 2nd in his dart league and holds the distinction of having listened to Roger Water's

and Cons of Hitchiking over 560 times, in its entirety! He is single, has a cat called Skookee and an albino midget alligator called Sam.*
