On
Wednesday evenings at 7:00 PM, practitioners
utilizing the Awareness Practice I techniques
gather for a group sitting guided by Lama Padma
Karma. Then on Thursday evenings at 7:00 PM,
practitioners utilizing Awareness Practice II
methods gather for a group sitting, also guided
by Lama Padma Karma.
Monthly
retreats are provided as a way for practitioners
to deepen their insight. They are an excellent
opportunity to have questions answered as they
arise throughout the day. At the Center for
Dzogchen Studies, these retreats are integral to
receiving additional teachings.
Through
the practices and retreats offered at the
Center, everyone has the opportunity to build a
solid foundation. Without this base, one Tibetan
Commentary states, " it would be like
pouring sweet nectar into a vase with a hole in
the bottom."
Retreats
are also a direct way that you can make a
difference in the maintenance and well-being of
the Center. The modest fees charged for the
retreats helps the Center to keep its doors open
so as to benefit countless beings with a
continual flow of wisdom practices. Those of you
who are still contemplating the usefulness of a
one day retreat, give it a consistent try and
see if your perspective on life changes.
To those
who are active participants, keep up the steady
pace of practice. When all things dissolve
before our very eyes, what we're left with is
the clarity of lifetimes, uncovered through the
use of wisdom practices. Without using these
practices, we continue to believe that somehow
our day dreams (life as we know it) are
substantially more real than our night dreams.
How unfortunate.
A full time Retreat Program is also available at
the Center.
