Welcome to the Laura & Rick Marek Family Tree web pages. Genealogy research (and this web site) is a constant "work in progress." Please help us keep the information up-to-date. My name is Rick Marek - Richard Peter Marek, Sr. My wife is Rosemary [Glynn] Marek. Our (now grown) children are Laura Elizabeth and Rick (Richard Peter, Jr.). So why is this named the “Laura & Rick Marek Family Tree web page” and not “my” web page? It's because I wanted to research the bloodlines of both myself and my wife for our kids – in the hopes that they will grow to appreciate their ancestry and want to take over the genealogical research. So far, their busy lives has prevented a volunteer from stepping forward. Note to Laura and Ricky: any time you're ready, I'm ready. Update notes:

The contents of this site have also changed. Please see the 19-Mar-2001 note below. I've been convinced that it is safe to follow the established international standards and guidelines for genealogical websites. Information gleaned from public (primarily Internet) sources can (some contend “should”) be published here.
In the interest of making these pages load faster, most of the graphic files have been eliminated. The links that were on this homepage, formerly associated with a graphic image, are now simple hyperlinks – text that can be clicked to “go there.”

Random thoughtsYour comments and suggestions are always welcome. More important are any corrections and additions. I'm considering a number of things about which your advice is welcome. Examples include providing email addresses for those in the family tree that have email access and adding a calendar page of anniversaries (birth, marriage, death, etc.). I'm certain that you've got better ideas; I'd truly like to read them. Please stay in touch - it's really great to hear from you, even if it's only to complain about the weather. Most of all, I'd just like to hear how you are - and possibly share some of your messages with the family. So just drop me a line. |
