Impression Guidelines

The main impression for the Nutmeg Mess is a Federal soldier of the Army of the Potomac from 1863-65 although have also portrayed early war (such as at McDowell) and Western theater (Chickamauga 1999).  In addition, we have started a Confederate impression based on the Army of Northern Virginia from around 1863.

We will be posting more detailed information on uniforms, equipment and vendors soon.

One very good piece of reference material is the Research Compendium put out by the Columbia Rifles.  This large book contains many articles on refining a Federal soldier impression and makes a good reference.  Click on the image below for details.
