I am currently a paid firefighter for the City of Waterbury, CT., and part-time Public affairs specialist for the Marine Corps Site Support Element in Chicopee Ma. and father of two. This site is part of my Internet provider's package so why not try it out. This will be my first web page.I plan to include info on myself, the Waterbury Hispanic Firefighters Society, my favorite links, and whatever else I think of. My hobbies include playing chess, basketball, bowling, music and playing with this computer. I hope you will find it interesting. Come back soon!

WATERBURY HISPANIC FIREFIGHTERS SOCIETY

The Waterbury Hispanic Firefighters Society was founded in 1995. The idea was spearheaded by two brothers Alex and Davis Calderon who are life long residents in the city of Waterbury.

" The purposes and goals of the society shall be to promote and develop a friendly and fraternal relationship among society members, Fire Department personnel and city of Waterbury residents.We volunteer services, organize and participate in charitable functions which benefit the community we serve."

Though a hispanic organization, the society does not limit its membership to those of hispanic background but to any department member who shares in the objectives of this fraternal order. As Public Servants we must meet the needs of community we serve which is composed of a very large hispanic population.

The society's small membership has been able to make significant contributions to the community in the form of cash, goods and services to include manpower in support of other hispanic organization's efforts for our community, giving bilingual classes in support of Fire Prevention and recognizing our youth with awards for academic excellence and savings bonds for their continued education.

We could not succeed without the support of our brothers and sisters of the Waterbury Fire Dept., The Spanish Action Council, local businesses and many others. We thank and salute you for your effort and support!
