The Principals' Newsletterr

June, 2005

Dear Parents/Guardians:

The first week of June has arrived and with it all the hustle and bustle of another wonderful school year coming to an end. For many,
it is hard to believe our students have just about completed their 180 days of school and countless hours of homework assignments, book reports,
science projects, etc. As I look back at this, the completion of my third year as principal at Sacred Heart School, I smile and thank God for the gift
of being here among His favorite gifts of Creation, His children.

The year of academic study and enrichment has been one in which we are all proud. Many of our students have brought praise to
our school as winners in various essay competitions, spelling bees and art presentations. The Danbury News Times has featured several of our
students' work on the "Kids' Page". Scholarships have been won by our Graduating Class and many will be placed in Honors Classes at the various
high schools chosen.

Turning now to financial issues, it is with pride I thank the Officers of our Home and School Association for the outstanding
leadership shown by each member that causes us to celebrate our accomplishment of once again reaching the Regional Assessment of $63,000. As
of this writing, there are just a few families whose assessment remains in arrears. Likewise, our tuition shows just a few families in arrears. I mention
the above because it is imperative that we do our fair share. This Office has offered financial assistance to those in need and so I find no excuse for
assessment or tuition to be in arrears at this late date. Every child has been educated to the best of our ability without regard to timely payment or
non payment and therefore, the above issue comes down to a justice issue.

The Learning Center will be in full operation again this year, June 27th-July 29th and welcomes candidates as our teachers of the
Regional School System encourage students to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity. We respond to all inquiries and are attempting to be
most flexible regarding parent need. If your child is causing concern, why not have them spend an hour or two with us to reinforce skills. For
children failing one subject or for children failing two subjects it is mandatory they attend in order to be advanced to the next grade.

On the Spiritual level, we have continued with our daily school community prayer as we begin and end each day with prayer. Our
rosary for this year was offered in church each Friday morning, culminating with our May Crowning May 23
rd. Tomorrow we end our school year
of Mass on the first Thursday of each month as our First Communion Class prepares the mass and we bid a fond farewell to our graduates with our
final prayer.

I thank you most sincerely for all you have done to make Sacred Heart School #1 in our mind and heart. Have a wonderful summer.
God bless you, May Mary our Mother keep you close to the Sacred Heart of her Son.

Sincerely,
Mary T. McCormack
