The Art of Medicine
					Over the years a number of newspaper comic strips and comic books have been published about the health care field. Newspaper strips include Neal Adam's Ben Casey, Ken Bald's Dr. Kildare, Surgeon Stone, Dr. Bobbs and Rex Morgan which stills runs today. Ben Casey, Dr. Kildare, the Young Doctors, Tom Brent Young Intern, and Young Dr. Masters have chronicled the lives of doctors. Nurses have been the focus of Nurse Betsy Crane, Cynthia Doyle Nurse in Love, Three Nurses, Sue and Sally Smith Flying Nurses, Three Nurses, The Nurses, Linda Lark, Night Nurse and Linda Carter Student Nurse. Some of the true legends of comics have worked on these books. Neal Adams first paid job was on the Ben Casey strip. Ken Bald drew Dr. Kildare for 20 consecutive years. Gene Colan illustrated a complete Ben Casey story for Dell and drew several issues of the serial "Reach for Happiness" for DC in Secret Hearts. John Romita Sr. pencilled the Nurse Mary Robin serial in the DC comic Young Love. Many of the Dell Dr. Kildare books were pencilled by John Tartaglione who inked Gene Colan's run on Daredevil for Marvel Comics. Tartaglione's Kildare work was inked by former DC editor in chief Dick Giordano. For those interested in non-medical comic art, there are also sections on Spider-man, Terry Moore's Strangers in Paradise, DC Comics art, Marvel Comics art, Alex Ross, Charles Vess and art from a variety of independent comics such as Liberty Meadows, Hellboy, Cavewoman and Shi.
