I get weary, life gets downright hard

In this world we're all stuck to the ground reaching for the stars

When the mountain's high

And the road runs long

And the sun seems it won't shine

You keep holding on with a love so strong

I keep thinking things might turn around

And the dreams we dream will find their wings and leave the ground

But they all fall down

Never make a sound

And I want to run and hide

But you keep holding on with a love so strong

Tearin' down the walls between us

Building up the love

You keep teraing down the walls between us

Never giving up -

Kent Family History

For those researching the Kent line. Daniel Kent of Ft. Madison Iowa was brother to Meshack or Meshae Kent in (Van Buren, Van Buren Iowa 1850 census). I don't know why they put Meshae. His name recorded in Plain City Ohio was Meshack. Daniel and Meshack were one of 13 children, the first 3 being born in VA and Hiram being born in 1807 in Franklin Co. Ohio. They moved from Franklin co. to Montgomery co. to Greene co. to , Madison co. then to Union co. Ohio. Thier parents were Silas Kent b. June 9, 1782 in NJ to James Kent from Hampshire co. VA. and Olive West Kent said to be born in Conn. After Silas died on August 21, 1833. Some of the family started moving west, including Olive West. Hiram and Elijah Kent brothers to the Daniel and Meshack, stayed in Ohio. Rachel Kent stayed in Ohio, married twice, 1st to Thomas Hollycross, 2nd to Kindle Huffman. Wesley, son of Silas after loosing a family in Ohio, moved to Fulton co., Illinois. It is said that Olive West Kent moved to Appanoose co. Iowa. I have not found records of that yet. I believe Silas Daniel, son of Silas and Olive moved to Kansas. John J. Kent son of Silas and Olive moved to Kansas.

The children of Silas and Olive were:
Charlotte, Emerelis, Mary, Meshack, Rachel, Sarah, Silas Daniel, Wesley, John Jay, Hiram, Daniel, Elijah and Levice. Not born in that order. When Silas died , some of the children were not grown. Moses Fullington became the guardian of Elijah and Levice twins. Hiram took some of the children. Much of my information on the Kent line comes from Census Records, the Plain City Library in Madison co. The Marysville, Union co. Ohio Library. L.Vernon Briggs book on Kents pg. 106.The W. H. Beers books on Madison, Union and Delaware Co. Ohio, The Bigelow Cemetery headstone of Silas Kent. I used the birth date calculator from his stone to figure out his birth date. The stone is in very bad shape, but was able to get a pretty good photo of it. Silas Kent is listed in the 1820 Census records for Madison co. Ohio. When he died, he left the farm to all 13 children, which was situated along the Little Darby River.
