Is not the solution to the contest! Despite the fact that it was by far the most common entry, God's Provision will not win you the battle. Since the enemy is at 28/30, you too will be at 28/30, resulting in a stalemate. Next turn, your opponent's Ananias will redeem the last Lost Soul and be victorious. Actually, there were many solutions to the contest. Mine was: Use the Great Faith card in your hand to draw out Reach of Desperation. You will then draw Breastplate of Righteousness, Pearl of Great Price, and Glittering Sword. Your abilities will be 22/18, and you will be immune to both Goliath and Ishbibenob, and will have discarded Lahmi, winning you the battle. Playing Son of God with New Jerusalem wins you the game! Two entrants, Justin Sangillo and Eric Largent also had correct answers. Here are theirs:

The score is 2-4, and you're losing. Each of you with three available Lost Souls to rescue, the only Hero of yours out is James Son of Zebedee, an 8/6 Purple Hero with the ability to band to John. Knowing that you're doomed if you don't attack this turn, you send out James. Your opponent, who plays with a 56-card deck, has neither a hand nor a deck remaining, but since you play with a 70-card deck you still have a little left. You have four cards in your deck and Son of God and New Jerusalem (Instant) in your hand, so you're only really one Lost Soul away. You have both used all of your instant cards (except for the two mentioned above in your hand). With your opponent's Ananias of Damascus out, your lack of Evil Characters will let him win next turn - and your Burial Shroud is used up! Suddenly, you see your opponent's defense pile on top of one another. He has a super band of Ishbibenob (8/10, Crimson), Saph (10/10, Gray), and Goliath (10/10, Black). Wondering how he could manage all those in a 56-card deck, you know your are doomed, especially considering that your Authority of Christ and your Coat of Many Colors were both used! You decide to just play your instant cards and accept a defeat by one point, but then you realize you didn't see that other card in your hand! It must have been stuck to the back of Son of God! You think carefully and then slowly grin - you know you have won. Keeping in mind that neither artifacts nor sites are used, what card do you have in your hand, and how can you use that card to win?

Winners of Contest #1

Justin Sangillo said that the card in your hand is Great Faith. You use Great Faith to draw Reach of Desperation, which will give you God's Provision, Glittering Sword, and Great Faith again. Use God's Provision to bring you to 28/30, and then use Glittering Sword to get rid of one of the Evil Characters, giving you the win after playing Son of God and New Jerusalem.

Eric Largent used the Reach of Desperation card in his hand to draw River Flowing From the Temple, Sibbechai, and Sword of the Lord. You play River Flowing From the Temple to band Sibbechai in, who discards Saph. Still having the initiative, you play Sword of the Lord, causing Ishbibenob and Lahmi to fight. Ishbibenob dies, and Lahmi isn't enough to block James & Sibbechai, granting you the win after playing Son of God and New Jerusalem.

Both of the two above entries were correct, so out of the two I randomly picked one. The winner of the prize was Justin Sangillo, but congratulations to the both of you! Within a few days, a new contest will be up: a new (but very different) Card-Creating Contest, so be prepared! Below is the original scenario for which the contestants needed to find a solution.
