A little about me: My name is Bob Camara, and in the words of Mayor Joe Ganim, "I was born and raised in Bridgeport." Bridgeport, Connecticut, that is. I got my start in modemming back in 1988, with a Commodore 64 and a 300 baud modem. I put up a BBS called Castle Roogna (from Piers Anthony's Xanth novel of the same name). This was way too slow, so I soon upgraded to a 1200 baud modem and Color-64 BBS software by Greg Pfountz. Eventually I got involved in a few D-Dial chat systems (ancestors of today's IRC) which ran on Apple IIe's with six 300 baud modems. After that, I took a hiatus from modemming for a few years and gave up my old Commie 64 for an IBM compatible. Then a few years ago, the internet became a household word, leading me to get myself an account and here I am today!
I'm an alumnus of Kolbe-Cathedral High School in Bridgeport and Fairfield University in Fairfield, Connecticut. Today I work as a Research Chemist and Environmental and Safety Manager for a small company in Fairfield. I also serve as Flotilla Commander for U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 24-2 of Stratford, Connecticut.
Below are some of my interests. Eventually I will set up a page for each of these as time allows.
