Red Acre's Alexandria, CD "Allie"
This Tricolor Sheltie was trained by Red Acre Farm Hearing Dog Center and placed with me Aug. 1989. I also did Obedience work with her under ILP limited registation and had great success with her. She is oversize and has "prick" ears, however, it did not bother me, as she still is the one that taught me to love a Sheltie. She only took four legs to complete her CD title in less than a year's time, while I added more sounds for her to work with at my home. She made a good traveling companion, as I have traveled with her many times. She also has been with me at work from time to time.
As of last October 1999, she is no longer with me, but her influence on my Life is still with me and I'm a better person now because of the many good years I had with Allie.
She Alerted me for these Sounds :
Alarm Clock, Oven Buzzer, Telephone, Smoke Alarm, Door knock/or
Bell, Teakettle Whistle.
She and I earned the following titles:
CD, Companion Dog.
1st place - Colonial Shetland Sheepdog
1st place - Western Mass SSC - High in trial
1st place - Northwestern Ct. Kennel Club - Highest scoring Shelite.
Caine good Citizen's Award, Certified Hearing Dog , 1st Place, Red Acre Farm Hearing Dog Reunion.
