PT-109

(Photos taken 1983)

This is a plastic Lindeberg Model kit set up for R/C. It was built in 2 short days by friend Jim and me. He built the deck and I put the "guts" in the hull. This boat has had so many runs and different motors in it that it does look used. To this day, it still runs, but has not been run for a few years. Looks like I ought to take it out for old time's sake. I learned alot about the R/C motors and how to make it go faster, as this was the "Prototype Testing" Boat. To this Day, I think the kit is still available, and have seen it in some Hobby stores.

PT-109 Motor Compartment

Photo showing motor & running gear. Note modified MRC/Tamyia car speed control for watercooling. It now has a long-can type motor in it. I can recommend this Boat to beginners, since it is low-cost and is tough when built right.
