Karen & Todd's BRAND "NEW" (to us) Aeronca Champ named Rudy (as in Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer)! Happy Birthday Rudy - as of August 2006 he was 60 years old! We finally own something older than "The BEAST"!
Todd and Rudy in front of "The BEAST" (1973 Sportscoach Motorhome) at our Campsite at N82, where we flew our glider - WH for 13 fun summers!
Karen doing fueling duty on one of our fall excursions. N89 - Ellenville, NY.
Todd and Gregg Squires practicing at N82.
The fall foliage is even better from the air!
One of general aviation's great flights! Here we are flying down the VFR Corridor over the Hudson River on the "Lady Tour" - eyeball to eyeball doing laps around the statue!
We're over Buzzard's Bay, where we have gained lots of altitude for our return from Martha's Vineyard. This is looking north at the Cape Cod Canal with Massachusetts on the left, Cape Cod to the right and Cape Cod Bay in the distance. We spent the day at the huge grass field of Katama airport on the Vineyard, parked at the special ocean tie-downs for small planes and swimming at the beach off the end of the runway!
It's Nanook of the North! Or - just Karen trying to stay warm on a winter day at Chester, CT!
Todd giving rides to the visiting nephews, Christmas of 2005. End of the runway at Chester, CT where Rudy is now living.
Winter Flight with Dick Perlot, looking down at the ice in the CT river around the Route 82 Bridge and Goodspeed Airport, about 3 miles east of our Chester Airport. Winter 05/06. |
