These are the
2" flexible pipes coming off the 2 pumps located in
the skimmer. We first ran them directly to the bio-filters just so
we could get the
pond running and start the maturation of the filters. Later, we
added all the valves and other connections.

The above diagram indicates how many of each type and size of fitting
was needed. It's important to dry fit everything and lay it out before
cutting the pipe and gluing the fittings.

The actual work is quick and simple - it's the design that's the hard
part! The plumbing pit has a brick surrounding wall, and is covered
with 2 sealed plywood covers (with big handles, so they are easy to
lift). It is covered in mulch, and if you didn't know it was there,
you would think it was part of the landscaping!

Here's how all the plumbing is fit into the pit! Every pipe and
fitting is labeled as to use and flow direction, and the valves are
tested! A good plumbing design greatly increases the ease of
maintenance and enjoyment of the pond!
