East Georgia Paranormal (EGP) is a paranormal investigation team based in Social Circle, GA. The group was started in the mid 90’s by a group of Walton EMC employees with an interest in the unexplained. As the group has evolved we still continue to explore paranormal occurrences on a regular basis. The 12 member team consists of individuals from Watkinsville to Marietta who are dedicated to the research of paranormal activity. EGP’s main focus is to provide an explanation of both natural and supernatural events for our clients. The team has conducted investigations in several southern states including Georgia, Florida, Tennessee and South Carolina but have concentrated our attention primarily to the greater Atlanta area including Walton, Rockdale, Newton and surrounding counties”. EGP’s specialty is conducting investigations in historic sites, both public and private. The group has been privileged to investigate in several antebellum homes in the area including the Gaither’s Plantation located in Newton County. East Georgia Paranormal considers Gaither’s home base as we conduct annual ghost tours and overnight investigations during the month of October to raise money for the site. All of the proceeds from ticket sales and overnight investigations go to the plantation and everyone associated with the event donates both their time and resources to make it a memorable experience for visitors. EGP hopes to provide the reader with more information on this year’s event in future eMetro Times publications.
As mentioned, our main focus is to help our clients understand what they are experiencing in their homes and places of business. Our approach is simple; we listen to our client, conduct an unbiased investigation and then provide evidence in the form of a written report supported by data. Our data may be derived from personal experiences witnessed by team members and may also include photographic and audio recordings. We have captured some compelling EVP’s (Electronic Voice Phenomenon) from both private and publicly owned sites. While the brunt of EVP’s has been captured at historic or older sites, the age of the site or structure does not really matter. EGP has investigated newer homes where we have also captured evidence of paranormal activity.
