During this project several things will be accomplished.
One, all items currently in our collection will be reviewed and reprocessed. Many items will be now labeled with information about their previous owner. To much surprise, we have actually id'ed several items which had never been id'ed before.
Two, our library will be recataloged. Over the years many donations have been made to it. Unfortuately due to our small, all volunteer staff, we had not been able to keep up with cataloging. Soon this will be corrected and a listing can be provided to all potential researchers. My many thanks to Ray for taking this part of the project under his wing.
Three, our manuscript and photo collection will be cataloged for the very first time. We have not been able to do this in the past again due again to our small, all volunteer staff. Soon a catalog will be made available on this website and in the library to any potential researchers.
Four, we will be reorganizing our collection into a series of themed cases. There will be one for infantry, one for cavalry, and one for artillery. The Hirst Collection, Burpee Collection, G.A.R. collection and the Spanish-American War collection will remain as is.
While many additions and changes are being made we will still remain open our regular hours.
We hope that you will come check us out.
