Periodically, the New England Civil War Museum hosts events that extend beyond the Civil War era, and sponsors special exhibits showcasing an aspect of Americana. In the past, the library has presented such exhibits as Toys: America at Play and America on Wheels. Formerly, the museum hosted the Social Studies Fair for interested students in the Vernon area. Due to overwhelming response, the New England Civil War Museum has turned the fair over to the auspices of the Vernon Board of Education. We have enjoyed our stint as hosts of this important exhibition and we are glad to see it grow beyond our means. The museum also tries to participate in Town of Vernon events whenever possible. Below is a current calendar listing of current and upcoming special events.
