UPDATE – VOTING HOURS EXTENDED – HONEY CREEK PRECINCT EMERGENCY POLLING PLACE CHANGE – HONEY CREEK VOTERS PRESIDENTIAL PREFERENCE PRIMARY ELECTION – MARCH 1, 2016
The voting hours for the Honey Creek Voting Precinct in Rockdale County has been extended until 7:45 pm on March 1, 2016, Election Day. In accordance with the Court Order, all Honey Creek voters in line by 7:45 pm at the Rockdale Board of Elections Office, 1400 Parker
Road, Lobby B, Conyers, GA, will be permitted to cast their ballot in the Presidential Preference Primary Election.
Due to a possible Norovirus at Honey Creek Elementary School located at 700 Honey Creek Road, voting for the Honey Creek Voting Precinct has been temporarily moved to the Rockdale County Board of Elections and Registration Office, 1400 Parker Road, Lobby B, Conyers, Ga. 30094. Voters of the Honey Creek Precinct will vote at the Rockdale Board of Elections Office on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 in the Presidential Preference Primary Election.
The Board of Elections and Registration Office was notified today that several students and staff members are sick with what is suspected as the Norovirus, a gastrointestinal virus which is highly contagious, spreads through food, water or close contact with other people. Upon being notified, the Board of Elections and Registration Office requested a Court Order from Judge Irwin, attached hereto, to relocate the Honey Creek Voting Precinct to the Board of Elections and Registration Office as a safety precaution for the voters and election workers.
There are 1,897 voters impacted by this change. The Board of Elections and Registration Office is asking that the voters of Honey Creek Precinct contact our office should they have any questions or require additional information.
All Rockdale County voters are reminded that they must vote at their assigned precinct on Election Day, 7 a.m. – 7 p.m., March 1.
