Quick
Start Guide by Pete, N4ZR
- The
purpose of this guide is to give the brand-new user an easy path to
getting the software running for the first time. That means
using it without any external interfaces, initially and only then
adding radio control. Further interfacing (such as CW, PTT
and microphone audio) is well covered in the manual.

- Computers using Windows XP Service Pack 2 or
Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 or higher will place a block on
compiled help files (*.chm) that are downloaded from the Internet. The
block will interfere with the operation of the help file and an ‘Action
canceled’ or ‘The page cannot be displayed’ error will be displayed in
the topic pane. The problem is caused by security features introduced
in the service packs designed to reduce vulnerabilities in HTML help.
- Workaround: After downloading the document, open it from the
location where it was saved and a security warning will appear. In
order to view the help documents properly, the checkmark must be
cleared from the ‘Always ask before opening this file’ check box. The
files will then open properly from the PC. Alternatively, right-click
on the file you want to open, click Properties, and then click Unblock.
Español
The whole help/manual has been translated in Spanish
by a whole team of translaters around José, EA7GV
- Descargar
MB)
-
- Los ordenadores que ejecuten Windows XP
Service Pack 2 o Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 o superior bloquean
programa. Si no quieres sobreescribir la versión inglesa renómbrala.

Frequently
Asked Questions
Question: What is the
latest version of the Help and the Manual?
At
the bottom of the first page the latest date and version of the
Help/Manual are shown. See the link above.
NB. The English
version is always the latest version of the Help and Manual.
Question:
Why are the Help and the Manual out of date?
The
Help updates on a schedule different from the program (mostly every few
weeks).
The program is updated by Tom, N1MM, the WIKI os maintained by many.
- You need to create a PDF separately, it's not in the N1MM logger update file.
- the WIKI is updated frequently and most recent. Create you own PDF manual from it and you have the ltest version.
Question: Why doesn't the Help work?
- Try Alt+H and not F1
- Probably
because the file is not on disk or not in the right folder (program
directory N1MM logger).
- The latest version can be
created/updated. Check the info above.
- In the
N1MM-FullInstaller.exe file there is an replacement Help file which
gives instructions to download the most recent version.
- The Manual is not included at all and can be downloaded which
is advised for printing.
- Windows blocks the
