The Chaplin Station (also called Clark's Corners) is now
on the grounds of the Connecticut Eastern Railroad Museum. It was
moved from Chaplin to the grounds of the museum in Willimantic in
1991. This is the original station was built in the
1870s. From the museum's web site: Elmer
Claslin Jewett held his first position as Station Agent and Telegrapher
in this little old depot in 1896. It then stood by the double railroad
tracks to the left of the bridge here at Clarks Corner and below the old
store and post office. The building was saved by the original Station
Agent and moved to his residence by a team of horses.
