Hi Kim!
This is Jennifer Brown.
I adopted "Lucy" this past Fall (9/04). I wanted to give you an update on her!
Well, we moved to Florida a month ago. My husband was transferred to a company in Boca Raton, FL, which is on the east coast, just north of Ft. Lauderdale. He started in November and the plan was for me and the kids, and Lucy, to stay in Danbury until June. We decided to put our house on the market in December because it was all decorated for the holidays, and it sold in less than 24 hours! Well, after a couple of house hunting trips, we decided to build a house. We are in an apartment until the house is completed, probably December.
Lucy is great. She is totally a part of our family and we love her! She was spayed right at 6 months, and it went well. She seemed to be uncomfortable at first, but she bounced right back. When my husband drove down one of the cars in February, Lucy went with him, and she was a trooper!
She enjoys running around the hallway of the apartment. I lost a security deposit one time at the last apartment we lived in because Daniel chewed the heck out of one spot of the carpet...I cannot let it happen again!
Lucy weighed about 3 pounds at her surgery, and the vet said she looked great.
Well, I just wanted to let you know one of your successes is now living in south Florida! I WILL send some pictures one of these days.
I hope all is well.
Take care,
Jennifer

It's Eileen Miller,
I bought the 3 bunnies at the old bethpage NY rabbit show on 4/1/06. I have been meaning to write sooner, but very busy at work. They are all fine. Was able to buy the blue seal bunny 16 food only, and they have been eating it. better that they eat the same brand they are used to. the black one = Alex (after my 14 pound black french lop) is very sweet, the friendliest. not scared of anything. big eater. the other 2 use her as a pillow when they sleep.the chinchilla - Devin, is the most timid, but learns from the other 2.
The grey and white one = Maya, is the smallest one, but growing. she is the most adventurous of the 3. i fell asleep on the couch and found her upstairs under my bed. she loves running up and down the stairs. in fact, she does not stop running. also likes going underneath my recliner. I am careful with that, don't want them getting caught. didn't realize that she sneaks in under the back when it is not reclined. she then taught that trick to the black one. she may be the smallest, but the most active. they are doing well with the litter box, except one that keeps on tinkling just outside the box. poop all over, but i am sure that will clear up after they get spayed.
They are confined to the kitchen when i am not home and at night and then have a run around the downstairs - living and dining rooms and kitchen. they do the loop around the rooms. kind of like the indy 500, a couple of collisions between them when they come from opposite ends. i felt so bad when the black one ran into a chair leg, all of a sudden i heard a clunk and then saw her wobble. i think she saw stars, seemed a little dizzy. the chair has been in the same place, she just misjudged. she seemed fine a couple of minutes later.
Congrats on raising such sweet bunnies.
Oh, one more thing. they like classical music. you must live in a quiet area. they all were not used to noises. they scattered whenever i sneezed, coughed, clanked a dish or pot. but, i was watching the movie remake of pride and prejudice which has a lot of classical music in the movie, and noticed them huddled in front of the speakers sleeping. so, when i am at work, they listen to classical music, they are a lot less skittish and more used to voices and regular noises.
hope you like the update.
take care.
