Mary Katherine Roark Moore had three sons and three daughters, and only the sons lived to adulthood. Of these, only James had children as noted. After her husband's death in 1884, Katherine continued living in Thornton, Texas and on her small farm near Thornton for a few years. For the last 30 years of her life she lived with her youngest son, Lee Andrew, in Terrell, Texas. She is buried in the Thornton, Texas cemetery beside her husband.
