The Credit School: Business Loans 101 for
Minorities, Women, Veterans, and People with Disabilities

Innovative new program presented by
U.S. Small Business Administration and UGA SBDC at five metro-Atlanta locations

The University of Georgia Small Business Development Center (UGA SBDC) announced an exclusive new program created to help minorities, women, veterans, and people with disabilities understand business loans and how to get financed. The Credit School is a full-day intensive boot camp designed to teach prospective and existing owners about business loans and credit. It will be held in five convenient metro-Atlanta locations.

 

“Last year, the UGA SBDC helped small business owners obtain over $100 million in capital infusion. We are very excited to present this innovative program with the assistance of the U.S. Small Business Administration Atlanta District office at five metro-Atlanta locations,” stated Lloyd Atkins, Director of Minority Business at the UGA SBDC.

 

“Utilizing its lending expertise, knowledge of SBA and other loan programs, loan packaging skills, and banking relationships, The Credit School provides startups and small business owners an exclusive opportunity to learn from experts who have already helped thousands secure business loans and talk with  local lenders. This program is for minorities, women, veterans, and people with disabilities who are existing and prospective business owners. Attendees will learn what SBA loans are (how they work, and how to get one); the impact of negative credit (and what you can do about it); how bankers think; and much more.” explains Atkins.

Speakers include: Rosemarie Drake, U.S. Small Business Administration; Lender Relations; UGA SBDC business consultants; local commercial bankers; and alternative lenders. The Credit School will be held in Fulton, DeKalb, Gwinnett, Clayton, and Cobb counties.

 

Metro-Atlanta dates/locations:
