Students and Parents or Guardians

Please read this information sheet carefully.

Teacher:   Mrs. Kathleen Leary

Course:   # M22A Geometry  L2

Goal:  to provide  students with a  comprehensive course of study in  geometry.

Behavioral expectations:  Students will follow all rules as outlined in the student handbook.

Materials:  Each student is expected to keep a well-organized notebook. It must be a spiral notebook

with pockets. Your spiral notebook will contain your notes, homework, handouts, tests and quizzes.

A (USB) flash drive will be needed for computer assignments. You will also need a package of 3x5 index cards.

Each student is expected to bring his notebook, textbook, scientific calculator, protractor, compass, ruler, index

cards, and two sharpened pencils to class each day.

Classroom procedures: Notes should be copied neatly into your notebook. Notes should include

all examples demonstrated in class. The notes should be dated and coded with the section being introduced.

Students should use pencil when taking notes. Homework is given almost every night. All homework

assignments must be done in pencil and have the following heading:

HW # Name
Assignment: Date
Period
Geometry

Homework should take approximately 30-45 minutes.

Tests and quizzes should be saved in chronological order.   You should use them to study for cumulative exams.

Make-up work:  Make-up work is your responsibility.  All class notes and homework assignments must be

made up in three days.  If you are absent the day of a test or quiz, you will take it the day you return.  For

prolonged absences, see me when you return to school.  If you know you are going to be absent, you must

inform me personally beforehand.

Extra Help:  Extra help is always available. If you are experiencing difficulty with material, see me

BEFORE THE DAY OF THE TEST.  You should show some evidence that you have tried.  Always bring

your notebook with you when you come for help. I will be in Room 111 after school.  You will be given

ample notice prior to a test.  Be prepared.  As soon as you do not understand something you should come

for help.  Quizzes are unannounced and may be on the reading assignments.

Evaluation:

Parents:  If at any time you want to speak with me, call the school (Voice Mail : Ext 438). Give your name, a number, and a time

after 3:00 p.m. when I will be able to reach you and I will return your call.
