Similar polygons (p. 423) Similar polygons are polygons having corresponding angles congruent and corresponding sides proportional. You denote similarity by ~.

Similarity ratio (p. 423) The similarity ratio is the ratio of the lengths of corresponding sides of similar polygons.

Golden rectangle, Golden ratio (p. 425) A golden rectangle is a rectangle that can be divided into a square and a rectangle that is similar to the original rectangle. The golden ratio is the ratio of the length of a golden rectangle to its width. The value of the golden ratio is about 1.62.
