Slope-intercept form (p. 152) The slope-intercept form of a linear equation is y = mx + b, where m is the slope of the line and b is the y-intercept. Standard form of a linear equation (p. 153) The standard form of a linear equation is Ax + By = C, where A, B, and C are integers and A and B are not both zero. Point-slope form (p. 154) The point-slope form for a nonvertical line with slope m and through point (x1, y1) is y − y1 = m(x − x1).
