Checklist of the Birds of Connecticut


Compiled by the Avian Records Committee of Connecticut

This list includes the 408 species recorded in Connecticut and accepted by the Avian Records Committee of Connecticut (ARCC). The names and sequence of species follow the A.O.U. Check-list of the Birds of North America (6th ed. 1983, as amended through the 40th supplement, Auk 112: 819-830, 1995).

A Field Checklist based on the list presented here can be purchased from the Connecticut Ornithological Association, 314 Unquowa Rd., Fairfield, CT 06430. The Field Checklist is a three-fold card with four columns for keeping daily or personal lists. The latest printed edition was compiled through August 1994.
