Writers and Teachers

Janet Bair has been a professional librarian for many years. She has written numerous articles and is a regular reviewer for School Library Journal, with over a hundred reviews to her credit. Devotions for Young Readers is her first book.

Janet holds a Master's in Library Science from Southern Connecticut State University and was recently recognized as a leader for young women by the Fairfield University Chapter of the Association of University Women.

James Bair has been teaching high school English since 1980. He is more of teacher than a programmer. His programs teach!

His experience in writing some 30 freelance articles and a few published poems has contributed to his teaching job. He was recognized by the National Council of Teachers of English in 1987 (Departmental Award) and in 1990 he was named a General Electric STAR (Student and Teacher Achievement Recognition) Teacher.

In addition to teaching in school, he has tutored students in the SAT since 1989 using his knowledge and sharing his experience to help students score an average of 150 points higher on their combined SAT scores. He shares the same information in his Verbal Vanquish program.

James' own 1500 SAT score helped him get into Harvard where he graduated with high honors. He holds a Master's in Education from Southern Connecticut State University. He is listed in Who's Who Among America's Teachers, Who's Who in Education, and Who's Who in the East. He has been a guest "speaker" at the CompuServe Education Forum, where he logs on regularly. He is a member of the Association of Shareware Professionals (ASP) and the Educational Software Cooperative (ESC).
