General Ray Davis Middle School will hold its Sixth Annual Empty Bowls Dinner on February 16, 2023. The dinner will be from 5:30 p.m.-7:00 p.m.
Empty Bowls is a grassroots project designed to get the community involved with ending hunger. The Empty Bowls dinner will give our students a chance to truly make a difference in the world through their art. The dinner is a simple meal of soup, salad, bread, and dessert. At the dinner, guests are invited to take home a ceramic bowl as a reminder of those who have “empty bowls” in our community.
The event is sponsored by the General Ray Davis Middle School’s Art Club. The Art Club has planned a canned food drive to run two weeks prior to the event. They will also take in non-perishable goods the evening of the event.
All of these items will be donated to the Rockdale County Emergency Relief. All sales from the evening’s event will also be given to the Rockdale County Emergency Relief in the form of a school check after all dinner sales are receipted.
General Ray Davis Middle School would love to have you come out and support this community event. Bring the whole family. They will be serving homemade soups by the School’s Cafeteria Chef, Peggy Burkey. Soup selections will be Tomato Bisque, Beef Vegetable, and Chicken Noodle. Heritage Hills Baptist Church will make over 500 homemade desserts and Publix Supermarket will provide all the bread, salad, and dressings.
The school would greatly appreciate your presence at the dinner and you get to take home a student handmade ceramic bowl to remind you of all the Empty Bowls in our community. Thank you very much.
