Emergency Services

Services Provided:
(information and referrals are available to those 18 years of age and older)
  • Crisis counseling for individuals who may be experiencing increased stress in their lives
  • Outreach to people who may be in need of support during times of crisis but are unable to access existing services
  • Staff assistance in obtaining necessary services and supports
  • Staff availability 24 hours a day by phone to discuss problems and concerns, and to provide assistance during psychiatric emergencies
  • Staff visits during periods of increased anxiety or when experiencing a recurrence of psychiatric symptoms
Hours:   Telephone lines:
24 hours per day, 7 days per week
Mobile Outreach: 8 am -- 10:30 pm, 7 days per week

  • Town police departments
  • Town social service departments

  • InterCommunity staff



What do Emergency Services clinicians do?
  • Telephone counseling
  • Establish on-going support calls
  • Counsel individuals in their preferred location (such as at home or a public place)
  • Serve as gatekeeper to state psychiatric hospitals and facilitate voluntary and involuntary hospitalizations for the safety of the person or community
