Jewish Community Center
Chapel Street

[Jewish Community Center]

The Jewish Community Center on Chapel Street in New Haven was dedicated in 1954. This building contained a synagogue, library, meeting rooms, a cafeteria, a full health club, and the offices of the Jewish Federation of New Haven. The building was recently sold to the City and has been converted into a Senior Citizen's Center. The JCC and Federation have moved to new, larger quarters in Woodbridge.

This photograph was taken in 1981 by Werner S. Hirsch, and was published in
Volume III of
Jews in New Haven .
