Drummer is an Australian Cattle Dog, also known as Blue Heelers or Queensland Heelers, a very interesting breed. He is stocky and strong, perfect for the cattle herding work for which he was bred. He is extremely loyal and intelligent, but these dogs are NOT for everyone. They are headstrong and stubborn and are best handled by an experienced dog person. They do not care for strangers, they are discerning about whom they will trust. They are active, but not hyperactive; discerning, but not neurotic.

Drummer’s favorite pastime is swimming –he will stay in the water for hours! If he is not at the beach, he will stick his whole head in his water bucket and pretend he is at the shore, or try to get me to spray him with the hose, pretending it is raining. He is a playful clown; fun to be around, once he knows who is boss.
