Cwrw is a Shetland Sheepdog, a Sheltie. His name is a Welsh Gaelic word meaning beer. He is not a beer drinker, but I wanted to give him a Gaelic name and most of them are single vowelled, multi-syllabic tongue twisters! His name is pronounced "koo-roo" . Although he is a nervous fella, as many Shelties are, he is a terrific dog, obedient to a fault, beautiful, sweet and loyal. He is great with other animals and loves to go for walks.

Shelties make good housedogs, but they do need quite a bit of exercise(as you can see from Cwrw's picture, he loves to run!)—they were bred for herding, after all! They have a thick coat which requires brushing. They also tend to be barkers! They love to hear their own voice and will bark at every noise, real or imagined!  I am, however, very lucky with Cwrw, he is a very quiet Sheltie!
