Brio is a Papillon and a wonderful little dog. He is loyal, happy and intelligent, as are most of the dogs of this breed. He has the sunniest disposition of almost any dog I’ve had and is always clowning. We play games of "hide and seek" and "tag" all around the house. We’ve made up the rules ourselves, but we know what they are and we play by them!! He is very quick to learn and will do anything to please. He loves being in the house…he refused to go out unless he is with a human.
Papillons are marvelous housedogs—they are active, but much of that energy can be expended by playing indoors. They tend to bark quite a bit, a habit best curtailed when they are pups. They are great for people who want a happy, active little housedog who is not averse to a little hiking here and there. They do not always do well with small children who might be a bit rough for them.
Papillons are named for the flowing off their ears, giving them a "butterfly" appearance. Although relatively easy to care for, they do require regular brushing.
