How to automatically put weather data on the web

By KD1LD

1. A computer with Windows 95, that you don't mind running 24 hours a day (more or less) is a good start.

2. A program to automatically dial-up your web sight, upload at a certain time (every 1 hour more or less) and then disconnect. I'm using PrimaSoft AutoFTP and it is100 % compatible with my system. You can find it at http://www.primasoft.com

3. You will need a screen capture program. It captures the screen every 5 minutes and saves it to a file. You will have to run your monitor at 256 colors 640x 480 or it will not work.http://www.weathernode.com/xenodown.asp This is the one I use.

4. You will need a clock. I use the one from windows 3.1 Just copy from 3.1 and put it on your C drive of the computer you will be using.

5. I made shortcuts on the main screen. I put the icons in this order, screen capture, the program I want to upload, clock, and then the autoftp. They work best in this order for me.You will need to make a file to hold the screen capture data. First make sure that the screen capture is saving to the file. Then work on the autoftp.

I am writing this to give some help on a very confusing subject. I hope everything works out for you.
