The Vintage Dance Society and its performing troupe, Polite Society, are dedicated to the reconstruction and preservation of the music and dances of the Victorian and Ragtime eras. The society offers periodic workshops (as an opportunity to learn the dances of these eras) and recreates period social events throughout the year (as an opportunity to step back in time and enjoy these dances in the setting they originated in). The society also offers monthly informal dances as a chance to meet other vintage dance enthusiasts, to learn new dances, and to hone one's dance skills.

Polite Society is a performing ensemble dedicated to the development of theatrical performances and the recreation of period social events (for other organizations) that reflect the elegance and splendor of the Victorian era and the spirit and excitement of the Ragtime era. Polite Society travels around the corner or around the world.
