Updates

7/20-  Currently the Crotch Rots are preparing to go into Studio X to record a new album.  Recording should start late July/ early August.  The band will be recording new versions of songs from "Violence is the Only Solution," which is no longer available, plus a few new tracks including two possible cover songs ("Barracuda" by Heart and "The Lady is a Tramp" by the late Frank Sinatra.  No Joke!)

7/21-  Recently J and Kev have started a side project with Josh (Pestilance, P.O.Y.) and Brian (P.O.Y.) called Cattivo Morte.  They play fast hard driving crust in the vein of State of Fear, Code 13, and Disrupt.  As soon as possible they plan to release a demo and begin playing shows around Connecticut.  (rumor has it that they might debut at the IORM show in Winsted on July 24.)

7/25-  Last night the Crotch Rots played at the IORM show in Winsted.  They arrived at 8:30, set up their equipment, and then wallowed in feedback for a while.  Opening with a song about "how happy I was the day Kurt Cobain killed himself" -Steve, the Crotch Rots then went through all their classics (except "Solitude," which has been cut) and then debuted two new songs, "Selected to Serve" and "Heading for Destruction."  Throughout their half hour set, small pits of loyal fans would break out, often times asorbing Chris, Steve, and the guy who was filming (no one knows who he was).  Talk to J if you'd like to see the tape.  The sound quality was lacking, but the band still put on a hell of a show, and I don't think that any fans were dissapointed.  By the way, the rumor of J and Kev's new band playing was false.  Josh was in the audience, but didn't even get close to a mike (except to back up Chris on "Heading for Destruction").  So, if you haven't seen the Crotch Rots yet, GO!  (just make sure to hide your valuables.)

8/16- Well, today the lyrics (in part) and the links page went on line.  Why don't you look at them?

8/21-  Kev has left the band for personal reasons, but on good terms (they're still drinkin' buddies).  Anyway, Matt Strong (ex. By Any Means Necessary) has come in to fill the bass position.

9/28- Hey, I know its been a while, but I've been gone.  Anyway, the Crotch Rots will start recording in Reiterate Records studio soon, which will spawn a great sounding demo.  They've been working on plenty of heavy new shit, and it should be interesting...
In other news, J. has recently started yet another project with Mike (BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY) and Matt (CROTCH ROTS,duhh!). Its called KONTORTION and we play heavy insane grindcore with alot of blastbeats and some sick breakdowns. So far this project is taking off really well.  Thats all for now.  Oi!

10/31- The Crotch Rots played a great Halloween show tonight.  They debuted a lot of great slowed down melodic riffs that didn't sacrifice one ounce of brutality!  KONTORTION also debuted tonight, and their particular brand of alternating slow/ fast grindcore took the crowd by storm!  A Jello fight during their set was the only sloppy part of their performance.  Other bands of note at the show were Conspiracy, mixing up the set with fast heavy metal and Operation Ivy classics, The Drunken Beernuts, a new ska outfit from Torrington, Detach, described as "claustraphobia in a good way," and Megaman, a bunch of drunk punks from West Hartford.  Overall the crowd was real cool and we hope to throw another show before the end of the year!

11/22-  November 27th another show at the Newtown Teen Center
Atom and His Package, East Coast Panic, Crypt Kicker 5, The Crotch Rots and Woken By Wire
