Influenced by Misfits, Disrupt, Destroy, Alcohol, Nausea, The Pist, Mob 47, Crude SS, and Toxic Narcotic (to name a few...), Crotch Rots have a distinctive sound for a Connecticut band...too metal to be punk, too punk to be metal, too foul to be commercial.
During the course of several more performances, including a cancer-benefit show at The Club in Torrington, Crotch Rots had picked up second vocalist Elliot Gagnon, who knew Chris Ham from a past band. With Elliot, Crotch Rots recorded their first demo, Violence is the Only Solution.
During the recording, Crotch Rots went through
a line-up change. Guitarist Rich White left the group for personal reasons,
leaving the group in bad shape. Luckily, Eric (By Any Means Necessary,
Civil Death) and Mickey (By Any Means Necessary, Federal
Failure, Projectile Vomit), both friends of the band, agreed
to come in and help out on guitar. Eventually, Micky became the official
guitarist of Crotch Rots and Eric went back to his other project.
Around that time, Elliot and Chris Ham left the band, in order to pursue
other intrests. Another friend, Kev, came on as the bassist, and Steve
from Those Poor
Bastards officially joined as a second vocalist.
But now he's gone. (I know, that didn't last
long...) And now Kev has been replaced too, by Matt Strong (ex. By
Any Means Necessary). That makes the current lineup:
Chris Crotch-Vocals
J. Rot-Drums
Micky-Guitar
Matt-Bass
