Here is Some Additional VIN Decode Info Sent To Me By Bob Harris Via E-Mail.
I was just reviewing the VIN decoding section of the Early Barracuda Home Page, and noticed a discrepency. The last 6 digits of the VIN (sequence number), will start with 500001 for all Valiant/Barracuda/Dart models built at the Hamtramck plant, (my Barracuda's VIN is BP29D62565975).

It was built in Hamtramck (as indicated by the 7th digit), and as can be seen, the sequence number starts with 5. I am taking my information from an original 1966 Chrysler Parts - Parts Catalog for the 1966 Passenger Car, Chrysler part number 81-690-0678.

There were two other plants that built the Valiant/Dart models, and they were the Los Angeles and St. Louis plants. Hamtramck was the ONLY plant building the Valiant Signet convertible (VH27), the Barracuda (BP29), and the Dart convertible (LH27and LP27).

The Hamtramck plant built all Valiant, Barracuda, and Dart model types; Los Angeles and St Louis built all but those three model types just mentioned.

All Hamtramck sequence numbers start at 500001 (for theValiant and Dart models only), and the Los Angeles and St. Louis plant sequence numbers start at 100001, as do all other passenger cars built at the Hamtramck plant.

I know how accurate you want to be with this information, so I thought I should drop you a personal message.
