Introduction:

This site is the family tree of our Dussault family dating back to the founding of Quebec. The families who came before us helped forge a new life throughout the province of Quebec and New England. As with many families who immigrated to North America the spelling of the family name has evolved over time. These include Dusceau dit Lafleur, Dusceau dit Lablanc, Dusceau, Dusaul, Dusault, Dusseault, and Dussault.

The Dussault name of today has it's origins from three individual pioneers to New France. The first pioneer was Elie Dusceau dit Lafleur of LaRochelle, France. He married Euphorsine Madeline Nicolet in 1663. In 1676 François Dussault immigrated to New France and married Genevieve Mezray. A third pioneer was Jean Dussault who married Marie Anne Lacombe in 1761. The genealogy of my ancestry has it's roots with Elie Dusceau dit Lafleur.

Many of our ancestors were among the first settlers of the city of Québec. Those among them are Jean Nicolet, Louis Hébert, Noel Morin, Olivier Le Tardif, and Robert Drouin.

Our first Dussault ancestor to immigrate to New France was Elie Dusceau dit Lafleur son of Francois Dusceau dit Lafleur and Marie Delaunay. After immigrating to New France he married Euphorsine Madeleine Nicolet the daughter of Jean Nicolet in 1663. This web page is dedicated to our Franco-American heritage. They came before us; making us who we are today.
