Wildflowers.
Which is amazing considering the island was entirely made of stone when the first settlers
arrived. They built fields from nothing by chipping away at the stone to make it
jagged and then dragging seaweed from the sea to drape over the rocks. The seaweed
eventually degraded to compost and soil. |
