Phils 65 Barracuda
The Baron III is a 1965 Plymouth Barracuda (actually, for '64 &'65
Barracudas were still a model of Valiant) with the formula S option, manual
steering
and brakes, no a/c or any other heavy garbage.
It came with a Hurst 4-speed form the factory, mated to a 235 h.p. 273
cdi motor. It's now powered by an
- Overbored 360 with a Purple Shaft Cam,
- Forged pistons
- Crane Lifter's
- Ported Heads
- Hooker Semi-Fenderwell Headers
- Edelbeock Performer Intake (With a Carter
AVS Carb)
- Hurst Vertical Gate Shifter
A Grant steering wheel, and new carpeting are
the only changes to the other wise original interior. A custom made 2 1/2"
exhaust with flowmaster and chrome side megs, and a 3.91 ratio 8 3/4 rear
completes the underside. Cragar mags were an option for Barracudas in '65,
which is why they were chosen for this car. The car was painted by the owner
in his driveway with 3
finish coats of urethane enamel. The hoodscoop was homemade using epoxy
resin and fiberglass. Future plans are for a custom made eight carb intake,
and a custom dashboard. It has won many 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place trophy's
at local cruises and shows, and it go's as good as it looks.
Best Of All-IT'S A MOPAR!!!
