Ride to Valhalla

August 2, 1997

This was a ride up to Valhalla, a small town in Westchester. This town, also known as the heaven of the Norse gods, is also where I work. It was over a 70 mile ride up there and back. It took about 6 and a half hours on my mountain bike. Once I got up past the Bronx and through the nastier parts of Yonkers, it was a very pleasant ride. Hastings in a very nice town to ride through. Other nice towns included Ardsley and Greenburgh. There were some good size hills along the way. Stevens Avenue, right behind where I work, has a very steep hill and was glad it was near the midpoint of the ride. The weather was perfect out. This was a nice weekend ride.
