November 1999 Rides
November 26: Rode with my Dad down to Smith Point beach. They are doing some major rework of the boardwalk. It was very brisk out down at the water. There was a nice tailwind coming back from the beach (nasty headwind going there). Looped down through Bellport and Brookhaven.
November 25: Nice pre-Thanksgiving dinner ride to work up an appetite. Cloudy ride up to Bald Hill and Yaphank on the Bianchi turned into a rainy ride by Southhaven Park and through Brookhaven and Bellport. Aside from the wet, it was a good ride.
November 20: Late day ride up to Ridgefield and Wilton. The temperature is quite nice, although it was overcast. The last half of the ride was in the dark, I had my NiteRider - I was clearly seen and given a decent berth by everyone.
November 17: Early morning ride in Aiken. Beatiful red sunrise made it worth freezing my butt off in below 30 degree weather on this 7am ride.
November 14: Another ride down here in Aiken. I'm down here for work and brought my bike along. Did two laps out into the country. Downtown Aiken is very neat - there are lots of dirt roads for the horses.
November 8: Late afternoon ride down here in Aiken, South Carolina. Nice and warm - in the low 80's. Not bad for November! This is horse country. Saw lots of horses and pastures, plus a few goats!
November 6: Rode up to Bethel with the Sound Cyclists. There was a guy from Texas and Mark on the ride, both of whom kept the pace pretty brisk. Beautiful day out.
November 3: Lunch time ride up along Rt 106. It is cold and windy. Fall is definitely here.
