October/November/December 1998 Rides

December 7: It is balmy out! The weather has been very nice out lately, it was around 65 degrees out for this nice ride. The only problem is it starts to get dark a little after 4pm. I can't wait for the winter solstice to come around. Then the days will only be getting longer. Rode up to New Canaan, then down along the Saugatuck River into Westport.

November 21: Short late day ride up to Rt 106 and through the nice houses. Kind of nippy.

November 7: Although the temperature was hovering around 50 degrees, the trees are barren, and the sky was sputtering occassional drizzles down on me, I enjoyed this ride very much. Had the tights on and a pair of long sleeve jerseys to keep me warm. Nice pace.

October 26: Rode up 124 with my dad into New York. Very pleasant ride, snaking back down to Newton Turnpike. A little longer than the standard route.

October 11: Quick late afternoon ride up to 106 and over and down rt. 53. The leaves are about half-way turned now. Startled a deer along rt. 106. There are always a lot of deer along that road.

October 4: Fall is definitely here now. The leaves are starting to turn and it was pretty nippy out during my ride. I went up to Ridgefield and down through Wilton. I managed to make the ride an even 30 miles by coming in around the back way to my apartment at the end of the ride, although the roads are a little bumpy.

Total mileage for months - 155.4 miles
