March 1998 Rides

March 7: This was a scenic ride up to Saugatuck Resevoir. I took the wrong way going up a wall of a hill in Redding.

March 8: Raced in Bethel Training Series. First week was 15 laps. I finished.

March 21: Rain Ride. I was really itching to go out and a little drizzle wasn't going to stop me. I rode up to the quaint little town of Silvermine.

March 22: Snow Ride. I rode up Rt 124 into Pound Ridge New York. There was at least four or five inches of snow on the ground with intermittent flurries. The scenery was spectacular.

March 28: The weekend after the snow, it was around 85 degrees out. Not to let this unusually warm weather go to waste, I rode up to Candlewood Lake above Danbury. After looping around this resevoir, I swung over to New Milford and encountered some very nasty hills. There was an especially brutal one coming up out of the Housatonic River dam in Stevenson. This was my first century of the season.

March 29: Raced in Bethel Training Series. Race was 18 laps. I finished but the ride the day before took a bit out of me. Later that day I rode up Rt. 123 and flew down Rt. 33. There can be quite a wind tunnel going down that road.

Total mileage for rides ~250 miles
