Sarah Lauren's Sailboat
By: Sarah Lauren
Wind Dancer is the name of our sail boat. She's a tough little sloop rig
that has been through some pretty hairy situations. She's made in Canada by a company named Paceship. My Dad installed the finest rigging blocks, and Mom sewed up the new jib. She's got a roller furl on the jib which makes coming into port a breeze. On nice sunny days, with winds about 5 knots, she is a dream to sail. Completely neutrally balanced, I can tack without
using the rudder; just pull in or let out the main sheet. In order to get neutral balance, my Dad had to, both, move the mast back toward the stern about two inches, and make adjustments to the centerboard. Once these adjustment were made, Windy really became a dream to handle.
