Sarah Lauren's Electric Guitar

I like my Fender American Standard Stratocaster

Sure, I know the PRSs have more scream, and the Pauls have that mellow humbucker sound, but the Strat has more, you know, vintage rock/blues sound. I just wish I could affort the Eric Clapton artist signature - nice axe. It's too bad they don't make the Standard in that old 55 chevy light green ocean spray colored body. Aspin Pitman has a picture of his greenie in his Tube Amp Book. Mine is a black body, maple fret, Standard. I threw the whammy bar away. Then took a chunk of wood and jammed it into the works. Sure I could have spent more, but for me the Standard is just right. My Dad built a custom amplifier for me, using a Celestion re-issue GM 12-25 Green-Back speaker, and the European EL34 tubes. Actually they're Teslovak's. He uses a 12AX7 preamp, and a 12AT7 splitter section. Dad built the amp (he's an electical engineer) so that it sings with that vintage sound, but without all the high volume. It's a great practice amp, and is perfect for recording.
